Shellathon

Poster

It’s the year 2030 and the undersea world is suffering a major housing crisis: the shells used by hermit crabs are disappearing due to ocean pollution and acidification! All that is left are damaged shells and strange plastic substitutes. In light of this shortage, underground shell battles increase in popularity as the crustaceous creatures are forced to fight one another for a chance at a home in good condition.

Through this project, I explored the disastrous consequences of climate change on marine life. As a group, we focused and speculated on a particular creature: the hermit crab. I created this poster to illustrate our narrative meant for 2030, emulating real-life old-school boxing match posters.
